Utilities in East Wichel

Who owns and provides television, telephone and power services in East Wichel

With the exception of water and sewerage, utilities in East Wichel were originally owned and operated by subsidiaries of Inexus Group based in Cardiff. They sold off the supply of cable radio and TV services in 2011, to a subsidiary of Canadian company Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. In November 2012, Inexus Group was also bought from Total S.A. by Brookfield Infrastructure Partners. From 2014 to 2016, Brookfield reorganised its UK businesses, with the gas and electricity network companies from Inexus Group becoming subsidiaries of Gas Transportation Company (GTC) based in Suffolk and a subsidiary of Brookfield Utilities UK from December 2010. The fibre network companies, some of which had been part of GTC and some part of Inexus, all became subsidiaries of Brookfield Utilities UK. In September 2016 Brookfield Utilities UK was renamed, becoming BUUK Infrastructure. Gas and electricity can be bought from any suppliers willing to do business with GTC: this is all the ‘big six’ utility companies but not all smaller suppliers.
